Handmade Door Gift done for a school reunion

Received a request from my former primary mate ( sekolah rendah gombak setia - yes, i was the former student in Gombak before moved to Petaling Jaya in 1986 ).  50 pax of twine coasters as a door gift for her secondary school reunion. 

Took me a few days to get it done with number of stages. From soaking the cotton twine, drying them  until the packaging stage. Oh ya ..A box consist of 4 coasters. Meaning 50pax x 4pcs = 200pcs manually done..yes, manually..ie handmade :) ...

fyi, i soaked the cotton twine by using food coloring.

Colored the twine according to theme color of the event. I did 2pcs of  blue and 2pcs original color.

luckily it was sunny days to let them dried ...

Most of the work was done in Kuantan and two days before the delivery headed to Kuala Lumpur because i have another task to be done there. So, continue the unfinished work at my brother's place.

With sleepless nights... finally the coasters done ... and nicely packed in a transparent boxes.

Do It Your Self

Okay It's 32 degree celsius .. need fresh and cooler air. Hmm but let just quickly update this blog and head up for evening run shortly.

I'm looking forward for some good feedback pertaining my DIY recycled project with the local #wedding magazine. Hopefully it turns out OKAY.. 

The photoshoot took place last week at their studio..yeah it was my first time heading there..( they usually come and see me..so this time around why not doing it at their place..quite pleasant getaway actually eventho pretty far hahahha ).

I was asked to provide some recycled materials / ideas that can be used for the future brides and grooms  on their wedding. And coincidently i was actually in my DIY mode.. kutip apa yang jumpa at home..plus since I'm into baking also so i collected egg cartons, tins, bottles..so just use them !. Eh,  They just read my mind is it ??? 

So, i agreed to be featured in their next issue ..

Such a good feeling when you're able to work with a good team. Easy to work with.. Please don't get bored with me ! .. 

I've prepared some easy steps for all the viewers to follow InsyaAllah.. 

Should the viewers need hands on coach...hmm lets have WORKSHOP ! .. why not ya ... I'm happy to teach.

Some Centerpiece ideas in Inspirasi Perkahwinan June 2014

Alhamdulillah, my work has been published in Inspirasi Perkahwinan magazine for June 2014 issue.
The photoshoot was done somewhere last month. With all the hick ups the photoshoot was smoothly conducted.  Kinda routine to have last minute request for a photoshoot from them but I'm always open to provide materials for their magazine. More than happy to be part in contributing ideas to all readers out there.  Hope I'm able to reach their needs :) !..

for this issue I'm supposed to create a few centerpieces.  And i came out with a few deco centerpieces

and also take away centerpieces ( the guest can bring home the centerpiece ! - its easier for both the guest and the host ! - hassle free ) . I may suggest this concept for " Close " ceremony for close families and friends. .. if you have 1000 guests or more you might want to hire people to give the favors.

So help yourself to get the copy ... tq for IP team for always having me in their magazine.

The theme was lace and the other one was color theme and chose the family of coral,peach,apricot for color inspiration.

Mini Birthday Pack for Nail

Last weekend really a hectic weekend .. 3 chores to be done in a row.  Need to get 50 MINI tote bags done, to bake 50pcs sugar cookies for the birthday pack item ( I'm lucky to have my sister to bake for me hehehe ) and to make Tiramisu for my Tiramisu diehard fan hehehe...

Thanks a lot to my siblings willing to help .. with all the hick ups hahaha. And since need to get help from my dad to deliver the birthday pack to Kuantan, i guess my speed was 150km/hr ..nahhhh. but i felt i was really SLOW hahaha..20km/hr ???

Anyway, for this lovely birthday boy.. I've made him MINI tote bag with goodies inside for his friends.
Used Japanese cotton and muslin for the lining also cotton tape for the handle.

The alphabets does spice up the tote bag. Time consuming but pretty and i don't mind doing that.

Hope he loves them ...and hope the mother loves the idea too ..Happy 6th Birthday Nail.

D.I.Y : Peanut Glass Jar

I would like to share what I've done recently. Aqiqah Favor for my cousin's new born baby.  Welcome on board Wan Ammar Zahin ! . oh ya he share the same birth date with my mum and another cousin's daughter Aimi Aisar. They were born on 17th September. Shall celebrate together huh !..

So, here's what I've done for Ammar ..

Theme color : Baby Blue & Lime Green

Tools & Materials

• Polkadots Organza Ribbon
• Satin Ribbon
• D.I.Y Name Tag
• Filled Glass Jar ( with any of your desired tidbits ) 
• Scissor & Craft Cutter
• Hole Puncher

1. Cut polkadots & satin ribbon to desired length. Make sure long enough to tie classic loop bow Cut your round D.I.Y name tag with craft paper cutter or scissor and write the baby's name with your beautiful handwriting. Make a hole by using the hole puncher.
2. Fill the glass jar with tidbits ( here i chose coated peanut )
3. Tie both ribbons around the jar and tie the polkadots ribbon into classic loop bow. Leave the satin ribbon untie.
4. Tag the name tag to the jar by inserting the satin ribbon and finish with tying another classic loop bow.

100 jars done for Ammar :) ..

Rite, before proceed with another task. Let me share recent task done.
Received a text from previous client. Last year was her wedding and now a surprise birthday candy land set up for her sister. Thanks to Atiyah and Auntie Muhaya for having me again. Pretty much last minute thingy..i had only 1 solid day (24hrs)plus minus sleep hrs~ to get all done!!! .. alhamdulillah managed to get everything all set!

Was browsing my FB and commenting @ my friend's status...heheh alhamdulillah, ada rezeki on that day. He asked whether if i could bake cuppies for him. I got to get them done a day before the due date as pretty hectic on the next day. Alhamdulillah siap as expected and delivered on thursday nite. Since the cuppies are for school kids  so i tagged them with cuppie signage with school items. 
Happy & glad to see the response from him. He loves them!! ..TQ ... Nanti order lagi yer ..

Small Party @ Kota Damansara

Olllaaaaa......

Had enuf rest today after a tiring week. So many things to think and do.
I was so happy with yesterday's project ..get excited when and really look into it when Faiz called for this small project.. She's my eva loyal client..from her wedding day, cukur jambul for her son and now her small party for her son and frens...photo shoot session.

Used fabric to get the hall turned into a small tent .. green and blue alwiz the nice combi after all, fresh pom pom flowers, scented candles does get the hall smells good. Took a few days to gather the whole idea, find stuffs...and i'm pretty happy with the outcome. Plus the guest also happy and commented " Faiz, is this your house ??? " ... Glad to hear isn't it :) . Oh ya, for Faiz's guest, I made a "flower tiara" as a party favor. Something for them to bring home.
