Flower Arrangement Workshop at Home Gardeners Bazaar

Flower Arrangement in A Pot

Hello there... hope everyone is doing fine today. I would like to share an interesting activity that's going to be held this coming Sunday, November 29, 2015. Please read thru the details below...

Note from the organizer :

Dear friends and nature lovers, The Refinery@ Sentul East Design Centre(SEED) is holding a gathering and sharing event at their courtyard at d7 specially for home gardening.

The event is to promote home gardeners to share, swap and sell their little plants suitable for home, apartment, condo or little pots for office table..to promote and encourage everyone to love our lovely little god's creation and to encourage a healthy and green environment in your homes and offices

We welcome and hope to have participation of interested home gardeners to gather to exchange pleasantries, create a small forum, a mini potluck for any home gardening groups to meet and share updates; and share/teach a bit of knowledge about how to plant 1 or 2 types++ of plants from the experts or from seasoned home gardeners and impart their knowledge to first time gardeners and to those who are looking for tips and guides to good planting.

And with the year end merry season coming our way, it would be a great idea to get a pot or two of homegrown plants as gifts, souvenirs, decors for your homes, Christmas, Birthdays, Housewarming..etc. How about that?

Flower Theraphy Series 2

Floral Arrangement: Hand Bouquet Workshop Series 2

Venue : Excel Training Center, Kajang Prima
Date : 12 September 2015
Time : 9am – 12noon
Private workshop with : Mrs Guna and Dadila Hashim

It was great Saturday morning with 2 lovely ladies Mrs Guna from Sungai Buluh and Ms Dadila Hashim from Kajang.
It was their first experience in handling fresh flowers and came with different background.

Full of laughter and I can see that their really put their soul in getting their bouquet done.

I can tell it was not bad at all for the first timer. They have that inner creativity in them! Definitely ..

For the first arrangement we get all the flowers prepared by cleaning them and get the flowers in new clean water . Shared a few tricks and tips while we get the arrangement done. By the way, they look good with my handmade apron! And yes, it’s theirs .. It’s a token for my participants.

I chose bold vibrant colours, mainly purple, blue, pink and shades of champagne .

We finally managed to get the bouquet done I think almost two hours. Plus minus taking pictures, answering questions and breaks.

As promised the bonus arrangement was the wrist corsage and flower crown. Well, it seems a hit at the wedding nowadays.

We exchanged some ideas that might help in speeding the arrangements process. It’s good to have participants who love to have two way communications. There’s no right and wrong when we are talking about art. It’s really about what you bring out from your soul and represent who you are. And it’s a pleasure for me to share what I know to the people out there.

We end our session by taking lots of pictures. I have some in my ipad which I have yet to get them transferred to my other folder.

So…to all DIY bride to be, party throwers or anyone who love to do floral arrangements and would like to experience the flower healing therapy, this is your treat. Come and join us in next workshop.

Have a great Friday all !!! …

Romantic and Friendly Lantern Night

Theme : White & Denim
                No.2, Jalan P5/5, Presint 5
      62200 Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia
Date  : 8th May 2015

Early May 2015, been such a hectic week as due for back to back deco work.
8th May 2015 a reunion dinner deco and 9th May hantaran wedding deco.
Luckily both happened in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur so still able to cope.

Really looking forward for the reunion deco work and it was very first deco work at Pullman, Putrajaya.

Before engaging with candles, lantern and flowers… as usual I will go for site visit and look around the space. Nice cozy ambiance for a romantic dinner by the lake side. With candles around would definitely brings up the mood.

The deco work was done on the actual day after Friday Prayer. I was lucky to have supportive assistants around. The deco was pretty much straight forward so finished the setting up much earlier.

We welcome the guest with sheer curtain and white, grey, light blue paper lanterns dangled along the entrance and candles along the walk path to the dinner area.

As for the centerpieces, we had the candles glasses and flower vases wrapped with denim just to match the theme for the night. And four tables with blue classic lantern representing denim too.

For the soft touch we used baby breath and white daisies. And yeah, mirror as the base for reflection effects.

Alhamdulillah, the client really happy with the simple yet welcoming outcome. I was more than happy and without help from the assistants I may not accomplished the project well. Thank you Dida, Wani, Jaja and Jojie.

And once done we celebrated with Nasi Arab at Sabaa in Cyberjaya and we called it a night with happy tummy … J

Till another deco work ...

Hands On Class

Our Fun and Flowery Day !

Alhamdulillah… we had fun during our very first collaboration class with Tap Women for Creative Photography Workshop last Saturday.

Shopped flowers from my favourite florist in Bangsar that morning and bought all the fresh blooming flowers to our class venue in Sri Gombak.  Bought Sunflowers, Roses, Baby’s Breath, Chrysanthemum Spray, Gerberas, Eustoma. Silver Dust, Euphobia Margin for the greens.

Was surprised to see my new students… they are young, sweet and energetic girls !

They are University students from different background and fields but love flowers.

Having said that, most of them came to learn in creating a bouquet that later can apply either for their own wedding bouquet or to start their small floral business.

For this class I chose to have random style hand tied of arrangements.  They are free to have a go with their color preference.  I called it garden floral arrangement as the arrangement does not stick to dome, round, stiff look .  We leave it as though that you pick your flowers from the garden.

Meet Jaja .. small in size but she’s so business minded. She knows what she wants and mind that she has quite number small business now.   And she brought bunch of gerberas, carnations to the class all the way from Cameron Highland!
Creative and sometimes funny.

Jaja

This is Wani. Tall pretty girl. She’s so into pink from the colour she chose for her bouquet.  Also into DIYs thingy.  It’s my second time meeting  her.  Oh ya..she’s good to pose!

Wani

This full of ideas girl is Syikin. At first I thought she kind of a shy girl but actually not ! she threw me with ideas and questions. She’s been dreaming to do her wedding deco by herself .  As she was saying the other day… dreams don’t cost you a penny J ..

Syikin

Ainin Sofia a Medical Science Technology student  tagged along with her two friends to enjoy the fun creating their bouquet.  She wanted to have her bouquet a little bit out of norm .. not to have round bouquet but long handle bouquet.  And apparently she chose the same flowers as mine !  Well, we are sisters…same thing in mind?? J ..

Sofia

Her name is Ika. Soft spoken girl.  Her bouquet seems tell who she is.  Chose pastel color palette  for her bouquet. Instead of greens she chose Silver Dust as her soft touch element.

Ika

And lastly this is Beeha. Another shy girl with full of passion to get the bouquet done. Struggled at first but later great outcome with wide smile !

Beeha

Hopefully all of them bring home  precious  moment  and useful tips that we shared during the workshop.

We end our class with a colourful group photo !

Thank you for coming and hope to see you guys again… all the best in all you do people!!! ..
