Hands On Class

Our Fun and Flowery Day !

Alhamdulillah… we had fun during our very first collaboration class with Tap Women for Creative Photography Workshop last Saturday.

Shopped flowers from my favourite florist in Bangsar that morning and bought all the fresh blooming flowers to our class venue in Sri Gombak.  Bought Sunflowers, Roses, Baby’s Breath, Chrysanthemum Spray, Gerberas, Eustoma. Silver Dust, Euphobia Margin for the greens.

Was surprised to see my new students… they are young, sweet and energetic girls !

They are University students from different background and fields but love flowers.

Having said that, most of them came to learn in creating a bouquet that later can apply either for their own wedding bouquet or to start their small floral business.

For this class I chose to have random style hand tied of arrangements.  They are free to have a go with their color preference.  I called it garden floral arrangement as the arrangement does not stick to dome, round, stiff look .  We leave it as though that you pick your flowers from the garden.

Meet Jaja .. small in size but she’s so business minded. She knows what she wants and mind that she has quite number small business now.   And she brought bunch of gerberas, carnations to the class all the way from Cameron Highland!
Creative and sometimes funny.

Jaja

This is Wani. Tall pretty girl. She’s so into pink from the colour she chose for her bouquet.  Also into DIYs thingy.  It’s my second time meeting  her.  Oh ya..she’s good to pose!

Wani

This full of ideas girl is Syikin. At first I thought she kind of a shy girl but actually not ! she threw me with ideas and questions. She’s been dreaming to do her wedding deco by herself .  As she was saying the other day… dreams don’t cost you a penny J ..

Syikin

Ainin Sofia a Medical Science Technology student  tagged along with her two friends to enjoy the fun creating their bouquet.  She wanted to have her bouquet a little bit out of norm .. not to have round bouquet but long handle bouquet.  And apparently she chose the same flowers as mine !  Well, we are sisters…same thing in mind?? J ..

Sofia

Her name is Ika. Soft spoken girl.  Her bouquet seems tell who she is.  Chose pastel color palette  for her bouquet. Instead of greens she chose Silver Dust as her soft touch element.

Ika

And lastly this is Beeha. Another shy girl with full of passion to get the bouquet done. Struggled at first but later great outcome with wide smile !

Beeha

Hopefully all of them bring home  precious  moment  and useful tips that we shared during the workshop.

We end our class with a colourful group photo !

Thank you for coming and hope to see you guys again… all the best in all you do people!!! ..

Ollaaaaaaa ..... I'm a contractor

Hello there ...

Just got chance to type in my blog... since my last update in Rompin. It's been a great day today.
Managed to get my 3D cake done ! ..

The request was from my sister's friend Hanim. She texted me the other day asking whether i do any .. 3D birthday cake or not. Well okay..something new that i can play with perhaps. She's looking for a number 3 cake as her son will be 3 this month. So, went to a few shops in Kuantan to find no 3 mold tin. And can't find any...they don't have it. Ok then so have to carve the cake ! ..

Kind of worry initially... freak out if the cake didn't turn out to be a perfect number 3 ...then i need to have a back up plan... Plus Hanim just leave everything to me to get the cake done.  So, I asked her what is Adam's favorite ?..

I was told that Adam loves truck, lorry, car ... anything to do with engine! .. Ahaa.... that is good enough. Since there's no number 3 mold around and the chances to get perfect number 3 is pretty slim so i've been thinking why don't i do a situation where a 3D number 3 being constructed.. an island !

Playing around with my little helpers!

Adam loves chocolate cake thus i baked him 2 recipes of my all time favourite chocolate cake.. just nice for a number 3.  Also bought some wafers, M&M chocolates and Oreos as additional deco for the cake..

Construction has just begin...

I used chocolate ganache to cover the whole cake .. Playing around with chocolates and wafers and used thread to hold and hang the wafers.

I must say i pretty much happy to see the outcome.

And Tadaaaaa ... here's the work in progress island !

Right thats about it ...

Hope it's something worth sharing ..
Okay I got to go .. another baking project to be done...cookies! ..

See that bloom cushion ? .. Specially handmade by me. Bring an element for entire deco

Introducing the team that had put so much effort in making sure the cover turn out great.

Humble Mila .. nice to meet you girl!

I also did share on "how to do" the bloom cushions with the readers.  It was a last minute request from the journalist actually..so, i just provide them with my Instagram notes ! I may need to share it here soon.
My fabric flowers was done a few days ahead before the photo shoot took place.

the cushion is open for pre-order

As you flip thru a few more pages you may find my other contribution. There's two Sirih Junjung arrangement shared.  Combining modern and classic fresh flowers for the first arrangement. And modern look for the second arrangement. Was asked to arrange them in a small basket.

The Polianthes Tuberosa "Harum Sundal Malam" and Roses mixture of classic and modern Sirih Junjung

The next arrangement i simply used hydrangea and baby breath. And by adding peach color ribbon it somehow give soft touch to the entire arrangement. As you can see i chose natural color pallet.

I was also given one more column to share my thoughts on 2015 wedding favors trend. Hope the readers will gain some input and rough idea for their coming wedding. ( eventho the notes that i emailed has been edited hahaha ). I might share my original note in the blog soon too.
