Flower Theraphy Series 2

Floral Arrangement: Hand Bouquet Workshop Series 2

Venue : Excel Training Center, Kajang Prima
Date : 12 September 2015
Time : 9am – 12noon
Private workshop with : Mrs Guna and Dadila Hashim

It was great Saturday morning with 2 lovely ladies Mrs Guna from Sungai Buluh and Ms Dadila Hashim from Kajang.
It was their first experience in handling fresh flowers and came with different background.

Full of laughter and I can see that their really put their soul in getting their bouquet done.

I can tell it was not bad at all for the first timer. They have that inner creativity in them! Definitely ..

For the first arrangement we get all the flowers prepared by cleaning them and get the flowers in new clean water . Shared a few tricks and tips while we get the arrangement done. By the way, they look good with my handmade apron! And yes, it’s theirs .. It’s a token for my participants.

I chose bold vibrant colours, mainly purple, blue, pink and shades of champagne .

We finally managed to get the bouquet done I think almost two hours. Plus minus taking pictures, answering questions and breaks.

As promised the bonus arrangement was the wrist corsage and flower crown. Well, it seems a hit at the wedding nowadays.

We exchanged some ideas that might help in speeding the arrangements process. It’s good to have participants who love to have two way communications. There’s no right and wrong when we are talking about art. It’s really about what you bring out from your soul and represent who you are. And it’s a pleasure for me to share what I know to the people out there.

We end our session by taking lots of pictures. I have some in my ipad which I have yet to get them transferred to my other folder.

So…to all DIY bride to be, party throwers or anyone who love to do floral arrangements and would like to experience the flower healing therapy, this is your treat. Come and join us in next workshop.

Have a great Friday all !!! …

Do It Yourself Demo .. extra deco for a wedding

Throwback ...

21 September 2014. Accepted an invitation to do a wedding extra deco by a local wedding magazine Inspirasi Perkahwinan at Shah Alam Convention Center, Shah Alam. In conjunction of a Wedding Expo.

I chose to show deco props from recycled water bottles, news paper, broken cups, egg carton, fabric remnants. And displayed them as a deco for a guest book table.  Did some preparation a couple of days ahead. I was kind a nervous actually as it's been years since my last class.

Happy to go with my tool box which was a gift from Jua,  my best friend and my sewn apron.

The demo was supposed to be conducted at 2pm but since session before me took more time so my slot has been brought forward to 3pm.

Can you see my butterflies in my stomach ??? hahah ..

Up on stage .. i think it was like a bullet train hahaha... just to keep me calm i invited the audience to join me. At least I was not talking alone. And it's more interesting to have it hands on.

Here are the deco props that i shared with the audience... Maybe i can do tutorial here in the blog too.

Newspaper balls glued on broken cup. Elegant and classic look right!

should you have remnants..dont just throw it away but clip it as a ribbon.
and i have that egg carton as the tray...

  • flower from recycled water bottles
  • flower balls from old news paper and book
  • flower balls stand from broken cups and bottle
  • frame from a jam bottle
  • fabric ribbon from remnants and wooden clips
  • extra deco from tree root and pearls

Alhamdulillah the demo went well and the lucky audience got the favors from me.

Because of Emerald ...

Emerald : A lively, radiant, lush green - the Color of the year 2013.

Even it's last year color .. the color somehow still blend in 2014.

was requested to do a few stalks of Bunga Telor. Gave 4 samples for client to choose. Alhamdulillah she chose the one with purple ribbon and flowers design. Just that i have to change the ribbon and flowers to Emerald color.

Faced a few hick ups due to shortage of supply and not so much of choices of Emerald flowers in Kuantan. Thus end up to a conclusion to used hues of green flowers and the ribbon going to be in Emerald.

The job was really based on trust ...and thanks Datin for your trust in me.  I just make the arrangement and deal with her Personal Assistant who's happened to be a good friend of mine. Which makes the deal much easier :)

tadaaaa .... the outcome !

The bouquets safely delivered at her office in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur.

And very glad that she's really happy with the outcome. Thanks again Datin and Marisa.

Ramadhan is approaching .. i'm hoping that i'll be able to do my very best during this coming holly month.

Oh ya..i'm suppose to deliver a few samples of bunga telor. Hopefully I'm able to get it done before Saturday :). .Since currently I'm in Kuantan so they should be on postal mode ..

As for theme they are looking for something greenish white ...or maybe greenish purple. Hues of green.
hmmm maybe i can suggest some combinations.

so i bought a few stuff from SSF , Small Garden .. quite pening when it comes in choosing colors hehehhe ...

so here's the 1st sample .. yang lain shall wait la yer ... Okay, will be back later ...
but i leave you with this love quote ..

Bunga Pahar or Bunga Telur

Alhamdulillah they are all done. After long break I'm getting my fingers ready to get the Bunga Pahar or some called as Bunga Telur done.  The last bunga pahar was done a few years ago.

Received request from a lovely Auntie who I just met recently. The flowers are for her niece who is getting married next 8th June. She's looking for an off-white color of flower to fit the dias / pelamin.
Browsed a few wedding store to fine suitable flowers / materials to be used. End up found these off-white foam flowers in one of the shops in Kuantan.

Got home and cut all the required ribbons. quite number of rolls ... kejang juga tangan after so long didn't get in touch with the bunga telur thingy hahha...padan muka.!!!!

for final touch up i put small diamond to enhance some bling to the flowers.  All done and i shall pack them up and deliver to Kuala Lumpur .. ya I'm back and forth KL - Ktn ... get used to it already. Alhamdulillah even I'm here in Kuantan I still have my clients back in KL. and of course I love to serve them all.

I'll be off to KL tomorrow to pick up my order from Floristika...ya picking up fresh flowers for this weekend's wedding. FyI, fresh flowers in Kuantan mahal sangat. Rather go back to KL and get my supplies. And I'll be happy ...hehheh...

Okay, done for today...need to prepare some baking stuff tonite..

Late Post - MPC in IP July 2013

Assalamualaikum and hi everyone ..

Hadoiyaiiiii ... my last update was in May 2013. Pretty much busy starting May onwards. Was away for a few weeks. And busy again after that. Alhamdulillah despite the tiredness and fatigue.
All of the sudden its already Ramadhan and again full time in the kitchen...continuing mum's legacy .. BISKUT RAYA.  I shall post a few pic of that in another post. Tonite it will be my late post of my work in Inspirasi Perkahwinan which has been published in July 2013 issue.

I have posted earlier in MPC's FB Fan Page .

And let me publish it over here :)

The pages was about centerpiece, hantaran and also hand bouquet. Oh ya... wedding favor !.
For centerpiece and hantaran we proposed beach as the theme. We used beach sand and also assortment of seashells as deco items. And the most outstanding shoot product was the seashells hand bouquet. To blend and potray the theme, we get coral color satin ribbon and paper strings to tie the bouquet and vase, candles for the centerpiece and tin for the favor.

For hantaran

tq for viewing peeps !!! ...
